Terence Lacey

Senior Partner Terence Lacey was educated at Queen’s University Belfast and graduated with a Degree in Law in 1990.

He has over 30 years of experience advising major Insurance clients across the entire island of Ireland.

With his specialism firmly within defence litigation, Terry regularly attends the High Court in Dublin and Belfast as well as the County and Circuit Courts.

He has significant experience in all aspects of defence litigation and particularly in dealing with high-value actions. He is an expert in Catastrophic Injury Claims and is recognised as a go-to adviser for Technical Insurance advice.

In his rest time, Terry’s interests are walking, running, cycling, Theology, and Classical Music.

Damian McGeady

Educated at Portobello College, Dublin, and Queen’s University, Belfast, Damian specialises in defence litigation, Insurance Law and Catastrophic Injury. Damian is the author of The Insurance Law Ireland blog and is a member of the British Insurance Law Association. Damian practices in The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and has extensive experience representing Insurers in both jurisdictions. Damian regularly undertakes training of Insurance Professionals in matters concerning Insurance Litigation in both The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Damian regularly advises Insurers on cross-border and jurisdictional issues.

Damian is a qualified Solicitor advocate and has a special interest in all matters of dispute resolution, including traditional litigation, arbitration, and mediation.

Damian enjoys reading, walking, and watching sports in his spare time. He is a season ticket holder at Ulster Rugby. Damian also enjoys Gaelic games and football.

Ruaidhrí Austin

Ruaidhrí first joined the firm as a trainee solicitor graduating in Law from Queen’s University Belfast.  After receiving his Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Studies he then joined the firm as a qualified solicitor working primarily in Insurance Defence Litigation.

Ruaidhrí was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in the Republic of Ireland in 2017 and was elevated to Partner in 2022.

He now represents clients across the entire island of Ireland.

Ruaidhrí’s workload consists primarily of road traffic accidents and accidents at work and specialises in Credit Hire Litigation.  Ruaidhrí speaks at CPD events in this area of law and provides training to insurance clients and solicitors alike.

In 2018, Ruaidhrí was elected onto the committee of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors’ Association (NIYSA) – www.niysa.com.

Outside of work, Ruaidhrí is a keen musician and teaches piano and violin.  He is a lover of all Martial Arts and is a member of Straight Blast Gym in Belfast.

Jenna Curran

Having concluded her undergraduate studies at Queen’s University in 2005, Jenna worked in a predominantly criminal and civil litigation firm.

In 2007 Jenna joined the firm as a legal executive and thereafter undertook her solicitor training.  She then qualified as a solicitor in 2010.

Jenna specialises in private client matters which range from claims for personal injuries/losses arising from Road Traffic Collisions to industrial injury claims such as Noise-Induced Hearing Loss, HAVS (Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome) as well as Asbestosis and related diseases.

Jenna also has an interest in debt recovery and land disputes.  Having also attended an intense training session on GDPR, Jenna takes an interest in such matters with a particular focus on safeguarding client’s personal and sensitive information.

In her spare time, Jenna enjoys reading, catching up with friends for coffee, Charleston dance classes, and spending time with her husband and young daughter.

Jenna is a member of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors Association (NIYSA), Women in Business, and has also recently been appointed as an adjudicator to the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Remuneration Panel.

Aisling Creegan

Having concluded her studies in 2019 with a degree in Law and Politics, Aisling joined Lacey Solicitors as a paralegal working predominantly in the motor liability team where she gained practical experience whilst undertaking her formal solicitor training in the Institute of Professional Legal Studies.

Originally from Cavan, Aisling commenced her training contract in 2020 and graduated from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies with a Distinction.  When Aisling will formally be called to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland and thereafter will look to be admitted to the Roll in the Republic of Ireland.

As an assistant solicitor within the firm, Aisling’s focus is to gain experience and applying her technical knowledge to the clients’ needs to build relationships.  As a fluent Irish speaker, Aisling is passionate about using the Irish language in front of Judges throughout Ireland. She is also now tasked with supporting the trainee solicitors and paralegals within the firm.

Her workload for the time being will be in personal injury litigation and drafting technical motions in the District and Circuit Courts in Ireland but her long term goal is to assist the Partners in complex insurance policy disputes.

In her spare time, Aisling enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as travelling and working out.  Aisling is a self-confessed shopaholic and notwithstanding that Aisling has a busy caseload leading her to courts across the entire Island of Ireland, the firm is always impressed that Aisling finds time to shop in whatever County her cases lead her to.
