Damian is a solicitor advocate specialising in insurance litigation, personal injury, catastrophic injury, and healthcare litigation. He acts for both private clients and insurers across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with particular expertise in cross-border and jurisdictional issues.
With over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession, Damian brings a depth of expertise to his practice and is committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for his clients, combining technical excellence with a practical and strategic approach.
Damian began his career after leaving school at 16, working as a postman before pursuing a path into the legal profession. He holds a Masters in Advanced Legal Practice and a Diploma in Insurance Law, and is currently undertaking a Masters degree in Gaelic Literature, reflecting his strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development. He embraces technology as part of a modern, efficient, and client-focused practice.
Damian is the author of the Legal Affairs Ireland blog and a member of the Insurance Law Association. He regularly advises insurers on complex claims and delivers training to insurance professionals on litigation strategy and claims handling in both jurisdictions. He has also lectured to event management professionals and has been invited as a guest speaker at a range of industry and professional events.
His practice encompasses all aspects of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation. He has particular experience representing sportsmen and women in disciplinary matters and currently sits on the GAA Antrim County Hearings Committee.
Outside of his professional work, Damian is a keen follower of sport. He previously officiated as a referee in both Gaelic football and soccer. In his spare time, he enjoys writing.
