Our History
Lacey Solicitors was founded in 2005 by Terence Lacey and promptly stood out in the Irish legal market as a boutique law firm specialising in insurance defence litigation. The opening of its Dublin office served only to cement its position as a key player in the Irish insurance legal market.
The growth of the firm is partly due to the building and maintenance of established relationships with insurance clients but also in part arising from clients’ increasingly robust stance on a perceptible increase in fraudulent claims experienced generally in recent years.
Our commitment to remaining entirely insurance focused, and our proven success with existing insurance clients allows us to build upon our reputation within the Irish insurance industry.

Lexcel is the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark for;
“excellence in legal practice management and excellence in client care.”
Firms are deemed Lexcel Accredited after an in initial in-depth inspection and audit of the firm’s files and procedures. Firms are then annually audited by Lexcel and the Centre for Assessment.
Lacey Solicitors has been Lexcel Accredited since 2016. In 2018 Lacey Solicitors were one of the first firms in the world to achieve the revised international Lexcel 5.1 Standard owing to our commitment to the introduction of GDPR.
