Orla McAteer joined Lacey Solicitors in 2023, having previously worked in a number of leading NI litigation firms.

Orla joined with an already established reputation as a motor claims litigator but brought to Lacey Solicitors a wealth of knowledge in Industrial Disease claims and currently acts for several clients in the High Court in Northern Ireland who have suffered from Asbestosis, hearing loss and lung disease claims.

Orla’s clients range from private individuals to businesses and insurers in Ireland and is a familiar face in the County Court and High Court of Northern Ireland.

Orla obtained her law degree from Queen’s University Belfast before completing her professional training at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies. She qualified as a solicitor in Northern Ireland and thereafter was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in the Republic of Ireland.

She now has extensive cross border experience which allows her to advise and represent clients across multiple jurisdictions.

At Lacey Solicitors, Orla manages a diverse caseload, providing strategic legal advice and representation in complex insurance litigation. She is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients, combining technical expertise with a pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.

She is quickly developing a reputation as specialist solicitor in the area of tinnitus and hearing loss claims arising out of road traffic accidents.

Beyond her practice, Orla is passionate about supporting the next generation of legal professionals. She is actively involved in the QUB Women in Law programme, mentoring students who aspire to enter the legal profession. Through this role, she provides guidance on career development, professional skills, and navigating the challenges of the legal sector.
