Motor Liability Claims

We act for insurers, self-insureds, claim handlers and brokers, in relation to motor liability claims in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Data from the Central Bank and the Department for Transport both show a decline in the total number of reported road traffic accidents in comparison to previous years however the consistent trend in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland is that the number of injury claims  continues to rise.

The introduction of the the Personal Injuries Assessment Board in Ireland the County Court (Financial Limits) Order 2013 served to more effectively manage motor claims in the courts, but insurers continue to rely on our expertise and robust defensive strategies to achieve prompt and cost-effective settlement .

Our solicitors at all times remain dedicated to resolving non-standard or challenging motor liability issues that arise but the vast majority of our instructions relate to:

Inflated credit hire charges and repair costs
Complex liability advice
Cross jurisdictional issues
Indemnity and coverage disputes
Injury claims
Large loss and catastrophic injury
Low velocity vehicle claims and causation
Pre-litigation strategies
Property damage

Our solicitors provide training and CPD seminars at the Law Society to other members of the profession in relation to motor liability claims.
